Hugh McDevitt received his Masters in Music degree in Choral Conducting from San Jose State in 2017 after retiring from IBM, where he was an electrical engineer for 32 years. He is the Chancel Choir Director at Santa Teresa Presbyterian Church in San Jose and has directed the local a cappella group Crescendo for over 20 years.
Hugh and his wife Debbie have been active in local community and church music for over 37 years. Hugh has studied piano, trumpet, and harpsichord and his choral compositions have been performed by Schola Cantorum and the Stanford Memorial Church Choir under the direction of Greg Wait, the Stanford Chamber Chorale directed by Stephen Sano, and the Princeton Singers directed by Steven Sametz.
Hsin-Yee has always had a love for music, one that took her to the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, where she studied piano with Benjamin Pasternack and oboe with Joseph Turner. In the past, she has lent her musical talents as an accompanist and performer with a number of groups, including the Mission Creek Chamber Singers, the Ohlone Chamber Singers, and San Jose State’s Summer in the City Camp. Presently Hsin-Yee is also the accompanist for the Mission Peak Choir. She shares her passion for music through teaching, working with students privately where she inspires the next generation of musicians with her warmth, skill and love for music.
